Dear World,
Today, August 4, 2010 is my 21st anniversary of being pull free. I stopped pulling out my hair August 4, 1989. I am living proof that you CAN heal from hair pulling and skin picking. I did it and you can too. Giving up is not an option. You can do this.
Find your path. It is within you. Be still and listen. As Christina Pearson founding director of the Trichotillomania Learning Center states ABSORB – Be Aware of your Body. Stop, Observe, Relax and Breathe. Read the rest of my blog. Read Christina’s blog on www.trich.org. Practice being still and observing yourself internally. The answers lie within.
All the best. Joan

Dear Joan,
I can not even start to explain how much this post means to me, I am fifteen and have been pulling since I was eight.
I am quite to social butterfly, so its odd for me to have trich. Last year I started highschool, and it hit hard. I was begining to obtain bald spots, I scared myself. My boyfriend and my best friend are the only ones that know. Around May I decided once and for all that I was just going to stop cold turkey. I did NOT want to be the only girl at pool parties over the summer who didn’t get their hair wet, so I stopped, on May 2nd I pulled my last hair.
I celebrated my three months just the other day, and it has been pure hell on earth! I don’t know what to do with my emotions, and I thought it would never end, but this post took the wieght off of my shoulders!
Thanks A Ton,
Em(:
